A DIFFERENT WAY TO SHOW UP
Meet Kortez Wilson
My path into real estate started long before I had a license. It started with community, sports, and learning what goes into making a house a home.
Louisville is where the story begins.
I grew up near Churchill Downs, in a family where home remodeling was part of everyday life. Being around that work taught me to look beyond a fresh coat of paint—to notice how a home functions, what has been maintained, and where a closer look is needed.
That background still shapes the questions I ask. A property can be beautiful and still need careful evaluation. It can also have possibilities that are easy to miss in a listing photo. Knowing the difference starts with paying attention and bringing in the right professionals.
Preparation became a way of working.
My education in broadcast journalism and communications, followed by a master’s degree in education, strengthened my interest in how people learn and how information is shared. I want people to understand what they are deciding, rather than feel rushed through a process they have never experienced.
I spent eleven years in college athletics operations at the University of Kentucky. Behind every event was a great deal of coordination: people, schedules, travel, budgets, and details that could not be left to chance. That work taught me to prepare early, communicate clearly, and stay steady when plans change.
